This can amplify cases of bullying.<br \/>\nBullying and cyberbullying can have serious adverse effects on the physical and psychological well-being of the child.<\/p>\n<h3>Support your child:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Make it clear to them that they can talk to you at any time.<\/li>\n<li>Advise them to identify other trusted adults in school and in their entourage who they can talk to (teachers, school nurses, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Explain that they will never be responsible for any mockery they might experience.<\/li>\n<li>Tell them that you are there to protect them should they be threatened with retaliation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>You have reasons for concern if your child:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>is constantly late for class. Late arrivals may be due to a strategy to avoid classmates in the schoolyard or hallways.<\/li>\n<li>no longer wants to engage in one of their extracurricular activities.<\/li>\n<li>often misses school.<\/li>\n<li>is getting lower grades.<\/li>\n<li>often has headaches or stomach aches.<\/li>\n<li>is sleep deprived.<\/li>\n<li>suffers from eating disorders.<\/li>\n<li>becomes aggressive.<\/li>\n<li>becomes isolated and withdrawn.<\/li>\n<li>shows signs of low self-esteem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>If your child is a victim of bullying or cyberbullying:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask them to describe the situation they are experiencing.<\/li>\n<li>Listen to them without judgement.<\/li>\n<li>Ask them if you can take a look at the messages, photos and videos published on the Internet without their consent.<\/li>\n<li>Inform their teacher and school administration of the situation so they can deal with it as early as possible and stop it.<\/li>\n<li>Remember that, depending on the situation, the law can protect your child.<\/li>\n<li>With your child\u2019s consent, collect and keep evidence (photos or screenshots of the content).<\/li>\n<li>You can call the nearest police department to report the situation.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on the advice of the police:\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the police department with or without your child, with the evidence.<\/li>\n<li>File a complaint.<\/li>\n<li>Report the content and\/or block the accounts of bullies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>To help you maintain a consistent approach:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember that your child is a victim; making them feel guilty will not solve the situation and will prevent them from feeling confident enough to tell you and give you as much information as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Be patient; your child will need time to report what happened to them.<\/li>\n<li>Offer your child the opportunity to receive psychological support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>If your child witnesses bullying or cyberbullying:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Tell them that they can play a key role in helping adults identify the situation and get it under control.\n<ul>\n<li>Invite them to talk to you or to a trusted adult in their school.<\/li>\n<li>Ask them not to participate in the bullying.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage them to express support for the victim.<\/li>\n<li>If your child is afraid of retaliation for disagreeing with the situation, advise them to talk to their friends to see if they can act as a group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cyberbullying Digital media use leads to a wider and faster dissemination of information, unrestricted by place or time (24 hours [&hellip;]<\/p>","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":0,"parent":1774,"menu_order":5,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-2692","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2692","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2692"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2692\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4841,"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2692\/revisions\/4841"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/1774"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/vivreaveclesecrans.actioninnocence.org\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2692"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
